Supporters of 1874 Northwich have been donating selection boxes for use in a Christmas event organised by St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice.

The hospice is one of the club's charity partners, and launched an appeal for selection boxes to use in conjunction with their Santa's Grotto Tour, as 1874 Northwich's Community Development spokesman Steve Richardson explained.

"In the run up to Christmas, the hospice's Red Routemaster bus is transformed into a Christmas Grotto, where local children can meet Father Christmas and his elves.

"The Selection Boxes will be used by the hospice to give out to visiting children, and the donation of the boxes reduces the cost to the hospice of providing the attraction.

"As always our amazing supporters have come up with the goods and our first delivery will consist of 54 selection boxes and this is just the first part, we have more.

"The collection of Selection Boxes will continue during the coming weeks, with further deliveries being made to the hospice".
