1874 Northwich -  at the recent home game against Runcorn Linnets, a collection was held in aid of the Kidscan charity, which carries out research into childhood cancers.

At the corresponding game between the two clubs last season, £855 was raised in support of 1874 goalkeeper Greg Hall’s Blue Bandana initiative, which he began to raise awareness of a little girl named Gracie who was suffering from cancer. Unfortunately Gracie passed away just after the collection and it was with the wishes of Gracie’s family that the money raised was donated to Kidscan.

The latest collection raised a further £175 for Kidscan, and the club would like to express thanks to supporters from both teams who helped to raise this considerable amount.

Squires Gate - Gate have become the latest club to take possession of a defibrillator.  The cost has been covered by the FA, The British Heart Foundation and the club.

A club statement said: "The club would like to extend it's gratitude to both The FA and The British Heart Foundation who have both helped make The Brian Addison Stadium a safer environment for our fans and players.

"We would also like to thank the club's junior section for there contribution to the equipment alongside the fundraising efforts of the committee.

"As a club we hope we will never need to use the equipment but are glad to know have it installed at the ground just in case".

Spot kick trivia - every Premier Division club has scored from the penalty spot this season, but there are still five Division One clubs who have yet to convert from 12 yards - Abbey Hulton United, Bacup Borough, St Helens Town, Stockport Town and Whitchurch Alport.

Only two clubs have had three different players score from the spot - Maine Road (Rick Williams, Jack Poxon and Ray Clooney) and Carlisle City (Jordan Atkinson, Kyle Armstrong and Josh Simpson).
