Successful night at Gate Charity Match

By Mark Ashmore

Wednesday night saw Squires Gate FC come together with H20 Publishing and several food services companies, to raise money in aid of the Families of Manchester charity.

The charity was set up to support the victims of the Manchester bombing back in May 2017.

Over £1,500 has been raised so far, with more expected over the next couple of days on JustGiving.  It's a sterling effort from Gate's new Commercial Manager Marc Sumner who arranged the whole event.

Marc works for H20 Publishing and has spent the last month arranging and recruiting the 30+ players who all took part in the game.  Some travelled from as far as London for the night whilst others came from Stoke, Cheshire and Bristol!

The game was a very competitive one with plenty of goals and a final score of 5-4.  After the game, in the clubhouse a successful raffle took place with 16 quality prizes all donated by food service companies.

If you would like to continue support this event you can still donate over on the Just Giving Page by clicking here.
