Bacup Borough's 7-0 win over Whitchurch Alport last Saturday has set what is believed to be a new league record.

Seven different goalscorers were on target for Borough, and having checked records as far as is possible, League Statistician Paul Cowburn believes that it is the first time seven different scorers have been on target in a league game which finished 7-0.

While checking the records, Paul also discovered the following games:

27th March 2001 - Clitheroe 13 Cheadle Town 0 - eight different scorers

28th January 2006 - Cammell Laird 13 Nelson 0 (League Challenge Cup) - seven different scorers.

And of course, earlier this season, West Didsbury & Chorlton recorded the highest ever win by a NWCFL club, when they beat Dinnington Town 15-1 in the FA Vase, and nine different scorers hit the back of the net for West on the day.
