Runcorn Linnets will commemorate the tenth anniversary of the formation of the club at their final home game of the season this coming Saturday, April 23rd.

The game against fellow Trust club 1874 Northwich falls close to the 10th anniversary of the club's formation on April 28th 2006 - the date when fans of Runcorn AFC met at the Quayside Function Rooms in Canal Street and decided to form a new club.

The club has taken a number of steps to celebrate the occasion, as Trust Secretaru Dave Bettley explained.

"We will be publishing a special bumper 40-page match day programme to look back on, and commemorate, our first 10 years. The programmes will be priced at £2.50 each.

"We have obtained a temporary licence to sell alcohol in the clubhouse, and hope supporters of both clubs will join before and after the match, and also at half-time, in raising a toast to our first 10 years.

"We will be selling cans of lager, bitter and cider in the clubhouse. Ground admission will therefore be available at the main turnstile earlier than usual from 1pm. Consumption of alcohol will only be permitted inside the clubhouse and will not be allowed outside under any circumstances.

"Light refreshments will be on sale from the shelter next to the main stand. Hot food will be available as usual from the canteen.

"As usual for those home games, which are likely to draw above average crowds, the turnstile on Stockham Lane will be in operation from 1.45pm for this match in addition to the main turnstile next to the clubhouse.

"We would also ask fans to arrive in good time for the kick-off to help with car parking, and so that congestion at the turnstiles is kept to a minimum".
