Cheadle Town's 10-1 win over Atherton LR was a record breaking result in more ways than one.

The win was Cheadle's highest ever in the NWCFL, beating their 7-0 win on the 13th September 1997 against Daisy Hill, and an 8-3 win over Colne on the 13th April 1998, both in Division Two.

It was also their 400th win in the NWCFL, so quite a way to celebrate the milestone.

Conversely the result was LR's worst ever in the league, beating the 9–1 defeat on the 23rd December 2006 at Ramsbottom United in Division One.

It is the second time this season that an NWCFL club has been 8-1 ahead at half time, the previous occasion being on Saturday 3rd October, when West Didsbury & Chorlton led by the same score against Dinnington Town in the FA Vase Second Qualifying Round.

It is the sixth time in NWCFL history that a team has won 10-1 at home, the previous occasions were:

6th March 1991 - Knowsley United v Flixton - Division One

1st April 1995 - Blackpool Mechanics v Castleton Gabriels - Division Two

16th February 2008 - Newcastle Town v Nelson - Division One

25th March 2013 - Runcorn Town v Stone Dominoes - Premier Division

13th December 2014 - Northwich Flixton Villa v Widnes - Division One

There has also been one instance of a 10-1 away from home - on the 5th November 1994, when Haslingden produced an explosive display worthy of Bonfire Night, at Squires Gate in a Division Two game.
