Daniel's Fund Raising Bike Ride Success

Daisy Hill striker Daniel Gregory has now returned to New Sirs after being away from the club at the end of August, to take part in his latest charity fund raising event.
Daniel’s efforts on a bike ride across Europe have so far raised over £1500 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a charity that is close to his heart.
His involvement with the charity came about following the death of his niece Chloe Johnstone, who passed away nine years ago as a result of Cystic Fibrosis when she was just 5 years old.
For the past few years, Daniel has been involved in raising money for the charity, which helps and supports families dealing with CF, and also funds the research into finding treatment for the disease.
There is no cure for CF but with the ongoing work of The Cystic Fibrosis Trust, it's hoped that it is only a matter of time before a cure is found.
“I first started taking part in events about five years ago, and have done something most years since then”, Daniel explained.
“You can go on the Cystic Fibrosis Trust website and they have information on organised events on there, and there are companies who organise events for the CF Trust too. There’s all sorts of things you can do, overseas challenges, bike rides and so on.
“I usually do the events on my own, but I do have a friend who also takes part in some events, so we do some together.
“I’ve done a sky dive, and did a London to Paris bike ride about two years ago,
“This time it was a three cities bike ride, from London to Amsterdam and then on to Brussels. It took place over four days and involved cycling over 330 miles, and we cycled around 100 miles a day.
“For each event I’ve managed to raise about the same amount each time, usually about £1500 to £2000. I’m not too sure what the next fund raiser will be. I’m looking at some walks next year, maybe a mountain walk but I’ve not decided yet”.
