It is with regret we have to announce the death of former Colne FC stalwart Bill Purcell.

Bill had been with Colne FC since the club was formed in 1996, and was well known as the club gateman, as as being the "away day navigator" and Committee Member.

Fellow Colne committee member Ray Davies said:  "Bill attended every home and away game until he struggled to get about or it might have been his walking sticks that wore out.

He will be fondly remembered by everyone who was involved with Colne FC, players and officials alike. He had reached the age of 88 and would have celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary next March.  Our thoughts and condolences go to his wife Elsie and the rest of his family.

"If anyone would like to give him a send off, the funeral is on Friday at Skipton Crematorium at 3.00 pm".
