Officials at AFC Blackpool are counting the cost of damage caused by local vandals, who set one of the dugouts at the ground on fire on Wednesday night.

It’s not the first time that the club’s facilities have been targeted, and understandably Chairman Tommy Baldwin is extremely upset at the damage that has been caused.

“I am sure a lot of clubs suffer from this type of incident, but with all the work going on at the club right now, this mindless destruction of other people’s property is a bitter pill to swallow”, he said.

“At AFC Blackpool we have over 200 kids and it’s them who suffer. It is really demoralising when you put in so much work to try and improve the state of the grounds, and then these people destroy it overnight”.
