Work on the new covered standing area at Glossop North End's Surrey Street ground is continuing despite the inclement weather of the past few days.

The development work began on Thursday 21st October, along with the construction of new turnstiles which are being moved further up Surrey Street. This will allow safer access and egress as well as freeing up an area designated for the new clubhouse.

Piling has begun for the new stand and the work is expected to be completed by the end of the week after which the concrete base can be laid.

Although the steelwork is already on site it needs fabricating and there are a few items still awaiting delivery.

The club says they are still confident of having the stand finished in time for the next home league game, which is against Colne on the 27th of this month.
