The Reusch Goalkeeper of the Month awards for February 2023 have been announced.

PREMIER DIVISION - RYAN HAMER (NORTHWICH VICTORIA)

Ryan has been instrumental in the form of Northwich Victoria since he rejoined in late January.

The opportunity to bring Ryan back in on loan from City of Liverpool for the rest of the season has been a shrewd move manager Steve Wilkes who had the difficult job to leave out regular keeper Chris Cheetham but Ryan has repaid the faith shown.

During February Ryan has played in all 8 games of which 7 were league games and 1 Macron cup tie. During this spell, Ryan has kept 4 clean sheets and conceded just 4 goals and as a result the team remain unbeaten in 2023.

Ryan’s commanding presence and vocal support has given the team huge confidence as we bid to challenge for promotion.

Well done Ryan!

FIRST DIVISION NORTH - JOSEPH OLDHAM (CHADDERTON)

Joey joined Chadderton in the summer from Radcliffe and he has been an ever present in the team and is our established number one,

Joey is still only 19 years of age but has a great attitude and has a bright future ahead of him, he is one of the most popular players in the group big fans favourite as well. Joey is a very confident keeper and is always talking to players in front of him, always makes himself available if his defenders have the ball and being closed down,

Joey has a save pair of hands and is very good in the air with crosses, reads the game well, Joey has kept 5 clean sheets out of 8 games in February and only conceded 3 of which one was a penalty, Joey made some brilliant saves against high flying Pilkington and Ilkey keeping clean sheets against both.

Well done Joey!

FIRST DIVISION SOUTH - JOSH SCHOFIELD (STOCKPORT TOWN)

Josh is in his second season at Stockport Town and has won this award for the second time having collected it in February 2022.

He has put in some commanding performances, communicating with his defenders and helping the team to one of the best months on record defensively. From five league games played, Josh kept five clean sheets, these against Maine Road, Stafford Town, Cammell Laird 1907, Abbey Hulton United and Foley Meir. This put Josh in the Town record books for the number of clean sheets kept in a row since Stockport were formed.

The only goals he did concede in the month were against Ellesmere Rangers in the Edward Case Cup. Josh now has 18 clean sheets from 40 games played this season.

Well done Josh!
