NWCFL First Division North manager resigns

NWCFL First Division North side Ashton Town have today accepted the resignation of manager Dave Dempsey.
Club Chairman Mark Hayes adds, 'The sad side of football is that if you are doing well, naturally other clubs come in for what you have. Dave has been offered a fantastic role at Atherton Colleries and he goes with our best wishes.
'We have a script to follow this season, and to continue with that we have immediately appointed Lee Bignall and Karl Bell as joint first team managers, and Chris Stammers as Head Coach.
'I have always said that I would always fully back anyone moving forward from this football club to the point that I would even proudly drive them. Luckilly this is only Atherton so he can make his own way.
'On a serious note though, Atherton Colleries is a club that I hugely admire so Dave goes with my greatest of best wishes and as always I will look out for Cols results and hope that they continue their amazing fairytale journey up the leagues.
'The future now is Lee, Karl and Chris, whom I have no doubt will continue to take us forward.'
Their first game in charge will be on Saturday when they face a trip to Emley AFC in the league.
