The second game of the day and the match started in a similar manner to the first with an early goal. Six minutes into the game and Jordan Lazenbury latched onto a mistake made by the home keeper to roll the ball into the back of the net to give the visitors the lead.
The lead didn’t last long however and within ten minutes Wythenshawe Town were level. A ball from the right by Dominic Smalley was finished by Matthew Bryan from close range.
An end to end start to the game and it wasn’t long until the four hundred strong crowd saw another goal. Wythenshawe keeper Callum Jakovlevs kicked out at the Abbey Hey forward and the ref gave a penalty. Grant Spencer calmly put the ball into the bottom right hand corner to put the visitors back in front.
The second half started similar to the first with an early goal as just three minutes into the half the hosts levelled. Ryan Livesey saved a shot from the home forward but couldn’t react quick enough as Brad Byrne followed up and tapped the ball into the back of the net.
A game with plenty of goals and there was more to come as the hosts quickly took the lead. Liam Crellin-Myers was quick to react to a through ball leaving himself one on one with Livesey. The forward made no mistake and slotted the ball past the visiting custodian.
Abbey Hey pushed for an equaliser but two great saves from Jakovlevs kept them out. Jordan Lazenbury shot from distance and Jake Dunford could only watch as his curling effort was superbly saved.
Town held out for the three points leaving them in a strong position for promotion as Abbey Hey sit just outside the promotion spots.
