NWCFL Stats Update #21

Happy New Year stats fans 

One huge milestone to celebrate this week. St Helens Town became the first team to play 1500 NWCFL games when they beat Chadderton 4-2 on Saturday. They were inaugural members of the league when in began in 1982, with the amalgamation of the Cheshire League and the Lancashire Combination.

Their complete playing record to date is:

P: 1500 W: 573 D: 315 L: 612 F: 2532 A: 2599

Bootle also hit a big one when they hit 1300 games on Boxing Day, beating Litherland REMYCA 1-0

Lots of other milestones:

Holker Old Boys played their 1050th game as they lost at home to Cleator Moor Celtic on Boxing Day

AFC Liverpool played their 450th game when they drew 3-3 at Lower Breck on Boxing Day and their second goal in this game was their 900th.

West Didsbury and Chorlton hit the 300 game mark as they lost at home to Maine Road on Boxing Day

Hanley Town played their 250th game as they went down 2-1 at Burscough and their final goal in the 4-3 win against Congleton Town on Boxing Day was their 500th goal

Abbey Hulton played their 100th game in the 0-1 defeat at Sandbach

Skelmersdale United’s 4-0 home win against Burscough was their 350th win

Litherland REMYC’s 1-0 win at home to Barnoldswick Town on Saturday was their 200th league success

Chadderton conceded their 2300th goal when St Helens opened the scoring in their game on Saturday.

FC Oswestry’s opener in their 4-2 win at Cheadle Heath Nomads was the home clubs 100th goal conceded.

Wow, you wait for one stat and a whole Christmas Stocking full come along.

Goal Scoring Heroes this week

No hat-tricks on Boxing Day, but then Patrick Davin hit his third hat-trick for Cheadle Town as they won at Eccleshall 4-0 on Saturday and Leonard Hamilton got his first when he hit three for FC Oswestry Town as they beat Cheadle Heath Nomads

Quite a lot to take in. No mid-week games this week but a full programme next Saturday.
