The Hallmark Security League is delighted to confirm that its prestigious Macron Cup Final will this year be held on Saturday 4th May and will be held at Altrincham Football Club’s J.Davidson Stadium.
This marks a change from recent years where the League’s leading cup final has been traditionally held in midweek and for the last three seasons, been held at Fleetwood Town’s Highbury Stadium. The Final will take place between the winners of the respective semi-finals which are between Avro Vs City of Liverpool and Congleton Town Vs 1874 Northwich and will kick off at 1pm.
We are delighted that having spoken with the officials at Altrincham Football Club over the last couple of months they have understood what The Hallmark Security League stands for and the role that we have in semi-professional football in the region. They have been very interested in staging, what to us is our leading event and whilst we have enjoyed our relationship with Fleetwood Town, we have been keen to listen to the feedback from supporters around the clubs who have been keen to see the final played on a Saturday and to vary the location.
We spoke with a number of clubs but the more we spoke with Grahame Rowley at Altrincham and about the excellent facility that is in the centre of our geographical region, it became apparent to us that it would be an ideal location to stage this season’s final.
Not only does the J.Davidson Stadium have a superb facility which includes a highly regarded pitch, it is also very easy to get to transport-wise with excellent public transport links and easy to reach from four of the regions motorways. After the game, Altrincham FC will be hosting a Beer Festival at the club as well which will likely prove very popular with all visitors to the stadium for the game.
Speaking of the announcement of the venue, the Chairman of the Hallmark Security League, Paul Lawler stated:
“We are delighted that Altrincham have agreed to host this year’s Macron Challenge Cup Final. The League Management Committee listened to feedback on previous cup finals about holding the game on a Saturday rather than midweek as we have traditionally done so."
Ticketing and hospitality information will be announced after the semi-final second Legs have been played on Friday 5th April. The League is looking for match and match ball sponsors for the final, anyone interested should email sponsorship@nwcfl.com for more information.
