Wembley dreams are still alive for 1874 Northwich after their 1-0 win over Chichester City in the 5th Round of the Buildbase FA Vase on Saturday.

In a game played at Witton Albion's Wincham Park, an 89th minute goal from Ryan Mitchell booked the Greens a place in the last eight of the competition, their second win in successive rounds at the same venue.  A match report on the game can be found by clicking here.

Eight league fixtures took place across the weekend, as once again the weather made its mark across the region.

In the Premier Division, Runcorn Linnets are ten points clear at the top of the table after a 3-1 win at bottom of the table Barnton on Friday evening.

Although Jack Woolley put the Villagers ahead on 20 minutes, within five minutes Linnets were level when Michael Simpson equalised from the penalty spot, and a second from Louis Corrigan had them ahead at the break.

Paul Shanley wrapped up the points with a third for Linnets 15 minutes from the end.

Widnes stay in second place after their 3-1 win over Padiham at the Select Security Stadium.

Michael Burke gave the home side a half time lead with his opener after 16 minutes, and Stuart Cook doubled the advantage a minute into the second half.

Danny Boyle immediately pulled a goal back for Padiham, but Sean Myler wrapped up the points for Widnes with a third goal in the final minute.

Bootle were the weekend's highest scorers with their 5-1 win at home to Congleton Town.

A frantic start saw Ryan Cox score twice for Bootle, Declan Fletcher pulled one back for Congleton, and then Andrew Gillespie made it 3-1 to Bootle all inside the opening 26 minutes.

The game then ran for almost 60 minutes without a goal, until Connor Millington added a fourth for the Bucks with a penalty and Carl Peers wrapped up a good afternoon for the home side with a fifth goal in the final minute.

Burscough came from behind to earn three valuable points in a 2-1 home win over Hanley Town.

An early goal from Theo Stair gave the visitors a lead they held until the 55th minute, when Chad Whyte levelled for Burscough, before Alexander Parkes struck the winner four minutes from time.

The win moved Burscough five points clear of the relegation zone.

AFC Liverpool's new management team of Stuart Keir and Ben Williams picked up their first three points since taking over with a 1-0 win at Maine Road, thanks to a goal for Leon Arnasalam 12 minutes from time.

In the First Division, only three games took place, two of them on 4G surfaces.

Whitchurch Alport continued their remarkable run of form, with their 1-0 win at Stockport Town being their tenth in succession. Carl Everall struck the all-important goal in the 66th minute, and teh win now sees Alport just one point behind Litherland REMYCA in second place.

A single goal victory for the visitors was also the outcome at Gillford Park, with James Kirby's 28th minute goal for Sandbach United seeing them through against Carlisle City.

The other game turned out to be an entertaining encounter at the Venue, with FC Oswestry Town and Nelson sharing a 2-2 draw.

Second half goals from Louis Moss and Tse Nan Yue had edged Town ahead after Christopher Turner had given Nelson a half time advantage, but a last minute equaliser from Samuel Holt salvaged a point for the Admirals.

Cammell Laird 1907's interest in the Wirral Senior Cup ended at the Quarter Final stage, going down 2-1 to Ellesmere Port Town.
