The pace setters at the top of both divisions were in fine goalscoring form at the weekend, with Runcorn Linnets hitting seven and both Prestwich Heys and Litherland REMYCA bagging six goals apiece in their respective games.

In the Premier Division, Runcorn Town continue to set the pace at the top of the table after coming from behind to win 3-2 in a ding-dong affair at Irlam.

After Shaun Dowling gave Town the lead, goals from Joel Amado and Jordan Icely put the home side ahead at the break.  But a Craig Cairns equaliser pulled Town back level, and Mark Reed struck what proved to be the winner in the 69th minute.

Runcorn Linnets kept on the tails of their town neighbours, consolidating their second place position with a thumping 7-0 win over West Didsbury & Chorlton.  Paul Shanley and Stuart Wellstead both scored hat tricks on a good day for Linnets.

Hanley Town continued their recent good form with a 2-0 victory over Burscough, Dan Cope grabbing both goals as they extended their lead to four points over Bootle, who remain in fourth place after going down 3-2 at Widnes.

A Kevin Towey penalty and a second from Jack Banister put the home side in the driving seat, and then in a frantic last seven minutes Daniel O`Connor pulled one back for Bootle, a minute later William Webb restored Widnes's two goal advantage, and Kieran Halligan reduced the arrears with a 90th minute strike for the visitors.

Winsford United stay in fifth place despite being held to a goalless draw at AFC Darwen, and Charnock Richard lost ground on the promotion chasers after going down 1-0 at home to Abbey Hey.  Peter Watling's 48th minute goal gave Abbey their second away win of the week.

The Merseyside derby between City of Liverpool and AFC Liverpool ended in a 1-1 draw, Joseph Camozzi's 86th minute equaliser rescuing a point for the Purps after Callum Ruttledge had put the visitors ahead 19 minutes from time.

Squires Gate continued their revival under manager Andy Clarkson with a 3-1 home win over Ashton Athletic.  Gate went two up through goals from Jack Williams and Tarren Moxon, but a counter from the prolific Dale Korie-Butler gave the Yellows a route back into the game just before half time.

But Tyler Atack wrapped up the points for Gate with a third goal eight minutes from the end.

In the First Division, Silsden AFC maintained their 100% record at the top of the table with a 4-2 win at New Mills.

It looked all over after 23 minutes at Church Lane when Kyle Hancock, Niall Sultan and Joe Gaughan put the Cobbydalers three goals up, but Bobby Lofthouse and Warren Gaskin hit back for the Millers to set up an exciting last half hour before Craig Bentham wrapped up the win with a fourth goal in the final minute.

Prestwich Heys and Litherland REMYCA took their shooting boots on the road with them, both recording 6-0 wins to keep them in second and third place respectively.

Rio Wilson-Heyes scored twice in Prestwich Heys' 6-0 win at Sandbach United, while Colin McDonald grabbed a hat trick and Joel Douglas a double in REMYCA's 6-0 win at Nelson.

Holker Old Boys held fourth placed Alsager Town to a goalless draw at Rakesmoor Lane, while Whitchurch Alport moved into fifth place with goals from Arron Johns and Simon Everall clinching a 2-0 win over Cheadle Town at Yockings Park.

Cammell Laird 1907 and AFC Blackpool remain just outside the play off places after they shared a 1-1 draw on Merseyside, with a Ben Holmes opener for Lairds on 16 minutes being cancelled out by an equaliser from Connah Bishop three minutes into the second half.

The old cliche of a game of two halves was certainly appropriate to describe events at the Brian Boys West View Stadium, with Bacup Borough racing into a four goal half time lead against Chadderton, and the visitors hitting back with three second half goals, but Bacup held on for a 4-3 win.

Elsewhere, goals from Ashley Woodhead and Mitchell Robertson secured a 2-1 for Atherton LR at home to Abbey Hulton United, Louis Downs scored both Eccleshall goals in the 2-1 win at St Helens Town, and an equaliser from Ellis Worrall three minutes from time earned Daisy Hill a point from a 1-1 draw at home to FC Oswestry Town, which moved them off the bottom of the table.

Finally, Carlisle City's interest in the Cumberland Senior Cup was unceremoniously ended at the 3rd Round stage, when they lost 6-1 at Aspatria, after Matthew Read had given them a 6th minute lead.
