Rain in the run up to the weekend once again took its toll on the fixture card, but a total of 14 games survived to deliver the usual range of talking points at the weekend.

Runcorn Linnets emerged victorious in the top of the table clash in the Premier Division, winning 1-0 against Atherton Collieries at the Kensite Stadium.

The vital goal arrived three minutes into the second half, Mark Houghton firing home to put Linnets back at the top of the table, a point ahead of Colls but having played three games more.
Bootle failed to capitalise on Colls slipping up, as they were held to a 1-1 draw at the St Lukes Barton Stadium by 1874 Northwich.

Sam Hare had put the Green ahead in the 51st minute, but Bootle rescued a point thanks to a penalty from Liam Loughlin five minutes from time.  They remain in third place, six points behind Linnets, and one point ahead of Runcorn Town in fourth place, who kept up the pressure on those above them with a 1-0 win over Nelson at the Pavilions.

Simon Thelwell scored the vital goal after 66 minutes, which as well as keeping Town in the hunt sent Nelson deeper into relegation trouble.

For the second time in four days, Barnoldswick Town staged an impressive comeback after being behind, eventually winning 2-1 at home to Hanley Town thanks to goals in the last nine minutes from Mark Threlfall and Andrew Hill.

Ashton Athletic warmed up for their appearance in the Partners Foundation Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy on Tuesday night with a 1-0 win at Congleton Town, captain Paul Watson scoring the only goal of the game in the 34th minute.

Padiham manager Steve Wilkes celebrated his 900th game as a manager by watching his side win 4-2 at home to New Mills, with his son Zack getting one of the goals, and Jordan Iceley scored twice for Irlam in the 2-1 home win over Barnton.

The Friday night derby clash between Maine Road and West Didsbury & Chorlton was abandoned after 55 minutes following an injury to a Maine Road player.

Although several of the promotion contenders in the First Division didn't play, there were still several results that affected the race for the automatic promotion and play off places.

Litherland REMYCA remain at the top of the table despite losing 2-1 at home to Silsden.  The game was goalless until 14 minutes from the end, but then Daniel Forest and Thomas Henderson gave the visitors a two goal lead that was halved when Lee McConchie scored a last minute consolation for Remy.

Charnock Richard moved into third place with an important 2-1 win at fellow promotion chasers Alsager Town.  Jonnathon Kapend had given Town a half time lead, but a Jonathan Hession equaliser just after the hour and a winner from Anthony Hough ten minutes from time sealed the points for the visitors.

Prestwich Heys remain in touch with the top six but are now five points off a play-off position after being held at home to a goalless draw by Chadderton.

Bacup Borough's 2-1 win over Stockport Town was their first at home since mid-September, second half goals James Constantine and Adrian Bellamy earning the points after Daryll Grant had given Town an early lead.

Eccleshall narrowed the gap on nearest relegation rivals Atherton LR, when they picked up a point from a 3-3 draw with Daisy Hill, while LR were losing 3-0 at St Helens Town.

A last minute penalty from Oliver Jepson rescued a point for Eccleshall, while goals from Liam Dodd, Andrew Gillespie and Dale Korie-Butler earned Saints the points against LR.
