As ever, the weekend's games provided talking points at the top and bottom of both divisions, as the battle for points continued.
In the Premier Division, the game of the day was at the Kensite Stadium and Atherton Collieries rounded off a good week with a 1-0 win over 1874 Northwich.
Ben Hardcastle scored the only goal of the game for Colls, who now sit level on points at the top of the table with Bootle, but have two games in hand.
The defeat for 1974 meant that Runcorn Linnets moved into third place on goal difference ahead of the Greens, thanks to a 3-0 win at Ashton Athletic, and opener from Stuart Wellstead and a double from Mark Houghton securing the win.
Runcorn Town are fifth after being held to a 1-1 draw at Nelson. A Joe Kearns free kick gave Town a half time lead, but Nelson rescued a point with a second half penalty.
AFC Liverpool ended Winsford United's good run of form, with a 2-0 win at the Marine Travel Arena. Jack Leamey and Emini Adegbenro were on target for the Reds.
The Friday night fixture between Abbey Hey and West Didsbury & Chorlton ended in a 2-2 draw, with an 89th minute penalty from Matty Kay rescuing a point for West.
Two goals from Jordan Iceley helped Irlam to a 3-2 win at Maine Road, and an 86th minute equaliser from Gareth Hargreaves earned Barnoldswick Town a 1-1 draw at Congleton Town.
The games between Barnton and Squires Gate and Cammell Laird 1907 and Padiham both ended goalless.
The fascinating battle at the top of the First Division goes on, and Litherland REMYCA remain as leaders although their winning run was ended in a 2-2 draw at Widnes. George Lomax scored twice for Widnes while Colin Quirk did likewise for Remy.
City of Liverpool FC are in second place, three points behind Remy, after coming from behind to win 2-1 at home to Silsden. Daniel Bunch had given the Cobbydalers a half time lead, but second half goals from John Connolly and Mathew Williams secured the points for the Purples.
Whitchurch Alport are third after getting back to winning ways with a 2-1 win over Atherton LR at Yockings Park. Two goals in the space of three second half minutes from Simon Everall and Matthew Ashbrook proved to be decisive for Alport.
Sandbach United continued their great run with a 2-1 home win over St Helens Town. Liam Dodd opened the scoring for the visitors, but Matthew Pearson levelled on the half hour and Josh Lane struck a second half winner that keeps United in fourth place.
Alsager Town are fifth after two goals from Mark Grice set them on the way to a 4-0 win at Bacup Borough, and Charnock Richard occupy the final play-off spot despite going down to a 1-0 defeat at Stockport Town, Alec Mudimu's 79th minute goal being the difference between the two sides.
Prestwich Heys continued their great run of current form, coming from behind with goals from Lee Bruce and Chris Baguley to earn a 2-1 win over Daisy Hill, for whom Michael Gervin had opened the scoring in the second minute.
Chadderton are another side in fine form, which they continued with a 4-0 home win over Carlisle City, Lewis Lacy scoring twice, and another player who scored twice was FC Oswestry Town's Thomas Rowlands, whose double helped his side to a 4-2 win over Holker Old Boys.
