League Attendances Top 50,000
Wed 5th February 2014 | Statistics | By Ian Templeman
Attendances in the League this season moved past the 50,000 mark, after the games that were played last Saturday, 1st February.
Given that this season we have enjoyed a relatively mild winter in comparison to the last few years, this is the earliest date for some years that recorded attendances have passed the 50,000 mark - last season the landmark wasn't reached until the 6th April!
This season's figures so far are as follows:
Premier Division - total attendances 32971 from 309 games - average 105 per game
Division One - total attendances 17198 from 211 games - average 82 per game
Total overall - total attendances 50169 from 520 games - average 97 per game across the whole League.
The figures overall up to this stage in the season represent an increase of over 20% in total across the League in comparison to last season. On the 6th April 2013, when the 50,000 mark was passed, the figures were as follows:
Premier Division - total attendances 38950 from 385 games - average 101
Division One - total attendances 11612 from 253 game- average 45
Total overall - total attendances 50562 from 638 games - average 79
The increase in the figures, in Division One in particular, are due in no small way to 1874 Northwich and Hanley Town joining the League, with both clubs attracting the best attendances in Division One this season.
