The midweek action in the NWCFL started on Tuesday night with a feast of fixtures, with league action up and down the region as well as some Cheshire senior cup fixtures mixed in to spice the night up.

In the Premier Division, a superb crowd of 252 saw Bootle run out comfortable 4-0 winners over Runcorn Town, whilst Rylands snatched a late 2-1 victory at Irlam and it was a goalless draw between Congleton Town and Ashton Athletic.

There was only one game in the First Division North, as Shelley defeated Bacup Borough 3-0 - Daniel Keane, Matthew Walker and Alex O'Keefe on the scoresheet.

Each one of the eight teams in action in the First Division South scored on a great night for the league. Vauxhall Motors maintained their lead at the summit following a 5-2 win away at Abbey Hulton United, whilst Wythenshawe Amateurs and Wythenshawe Town both won 3-1 against Sandbach United and Stone Old Alleynians respectively.

Lastly in the league, two injury-time goals saw FC Oswestry Town and Ellesmere Rangers draw in an epic 3-all battle at Burma Road.

In the Cheshire Senior Cup, 1874 Northwich advanced following a 3-0 win against fellow NWCFL side Cheadle Heath Nomads, whilst Stockport Town narrowly exited the competition, losing 1-0 to National League South side Chester, meanwhile, Cammell Laird 1907 crashed out to Nantwich Town 7-0.

On Wednesday evening, 202 spectators witnessed a historic win for Northwich Victoria in the Cheshire Senior Cup, as a Thomas Kikifin second-half goal saw Steve Wilkes' side win 1-0.

Chadderton moved up to 10th in the standings after they collected three points away at Steeton in the First Division North, whilst Pilkington narrowed the gap to the promotion places to just four points following a 2-1 victory over Garstang.

AFC Liverpool came from behind and was leading 4-3 with two minutes to go against Emley AFC but a late Alex Metcalfe goal split the points between the second and third-place teams.

Just one game occurred on Thursday evening, as First Division North league leaders Lower Breck entertained Prestwich Heys, but a 94th minute Tom Kinsella strike saw the sides draw 2-2 in a great spectacle for the 101 fans.

The action returns on Saturday with two Buildbade FA Vase ties, nine NWCFL Premier Division games, ten NWCFL First Division North fixtures and ten NWCFL First Division South matches.
