NWCFL Stats Update #19

Guess what – not much to report, again with a weather decimated mid-week and several off on Saturday.

However: Shelley conceded their 100th league goal when Nelson hit their third in Shelley’s 5-3 win on Saturday and Hanley Town conceded their 402nd goal in their 6-2 home defeat to Ashton Athletic, again on Saturday (they are only 7 off scoring their 500th).

Goal Scoring Heroes This Week

First up, on Monday night James Bateman of Daisy Hill hit three in the second half to see his side come back from 0-2 down to beat Prestwich Heys.

On Saturday, Matthew Waller’s three helped Shelley to a 5-3 win against Nelson and Louis Downs of Eccleshall hit three in their 8-1 home win against Alsager Town.

Cheadle Town hit six at St Martin’s – with six different goal scorers!

Matthew Waller’s third goal on Saturday was the 700th Division One North league goal of the season (an average of 4.05 per game). Calum Wilson’s 25th minute strike for Ashton Athletic was the 300th away goal in the Premier Division this season.
