On Wednesday it was announced the three NWCFL sides who had won the Macron Club of the August for their respective leagues. Whitchurch Alport won the NWCFL Premier Division section whilst Prestwich Heys and West Didsbury & Chorlton won the North and South awards respectively.

We caught up with two out of the three managers late on Wednesday night, starting with Whitchurch manager Luke Goddard, "I am just delighted for everyone at the club, it’s a hugely competitive league and we are still very much a new club at this level so to go unbeaten including a couple of impressive FA Cup results is a real credit to everyone involved.

"Of course, it’s a results business and the players deserve the chunk of the praise, they’ve been terrific and we now focus on another month."

Whilst Disbury's Brad Cooke was equally delighted, "It's been a very pleasing start on the football front. It's always nice to get recognition for doing well! But this is for the club and the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes. The volunteers that work tirelessly to keep everything ticking over, the media team that do a great job ensuring people are hooked and want to keep coming back through the gate.

"My two chairman and secretary who work every single day to keep the club going. Without them, we wouldn't have been able to put the performances on the pitch so it's only right they get the recognition they deserve."

A big congratulations to all three clubs on their respective awards.
