The final day of the league season ended on a high for both City of Liverpool and Longridge Town, who clinched the Premier Division and First Division North titles respectively.
In both instances the destination of the titles was decided by the results in two games, with the winners of both titles having started the day in the runners-up spot.
City of Liverpool knew that they had to beat Irlam and hope that Bootle failed to win at home to Northwich Victoria and that was exactly how the results worked out.
Tom Peterson and Craig Cairns scored in City of Liverpool's 2-0 win at Irlam, while Bootle were always up against it after going behind to a Darrhyl Mason goal for Northwich Victoria.
Liam Loughlin levelled for Bootle early in the second half, but their inability to score a second goal handed the title to the Purps.

At the other end of the Premier Division table, West Didsbury & Chorlton finished up in the second relegation place after losing 2-1 at home to Ashton Athletic.
Stephen Hall had equalised for West after they had gone behind to an own goal, but Christopher Bandell struck an 81st minute winner for the Yellows.
It was a result that ended West hopes of survival, as the other teams in relegation trouble, Padiham and Hanley Town, both won their games to ensure they will be playing Premier Division football next season.
James Dean, Samuel Howell and Ellis Hancox all scored first half goals in Padiham's 3-2 win over Winsford United, and two early goals from Neville Thompson and another in the second half from Mackenzie Faulkner earned Hanley a 3-1 win at Litherland REMYCA.
Congleton Town finished in third place in the Premier Division despite going down 3-1 at home to Squires Gate, Gary Pett scoring twice for Gate.
The other Premier Division games all ended in home wins.
1874 Northwich's 3-0 win over Runcorn Town was achieved through second half goals from Aaron Smith, Kyle Phipps and Matthew Woolley, and Zack Dale scored a hat trick in Barnoldswick Town's 6-0 win over Abbey Hey.
Charnock Richard's goalscoring machine Carl Grimshaw ended another goal laden season with both goals in the 2-1 win over Whitchurch Alport, and Daniel Illingworth also scored twice in Silsden's 3-2 win over Burscough.
The First Division North title was claimed by Longridge Town, after their 4-1 home win over Holker Old Boys edged them ahead of Avro, who lost 1-0 at AFC Liverpool.
Paul Turner's hat trick was the highlight of Town's win, and James McGrane's last minute winner for AFC Liverpool consigned Avro to the runners-up spot, and at the same time clinched a third place finish for the Reds.

Lower Breck finish in fourth place in the First Division North, although they ended the season with a 2-2 draw at home to Carlisle City, David Renyard scoring both goals for the visitors.
Prestwich Heys were guaranteed to finish in fifth place, although they lost 1-0 to a Ben Duffield goal at AFC Blackpool.
There were plenty of goals across the other games in the division, and Bacup Borough and Cleator Moor Celtic both recorded 5-0 wins.
Matthew Bryan scored twice in Borough's win at Atherton LR and five different scorers shared the goals in Celtic's win over Daisy Hill.
Comeback of the day was at Ashton Town, where David Moore, Bradley Smart and John Edgerton all scored in the last 18 minutes to earn them a 3-2 win over Chadderton.
Johnny Hothersall's hat trick was the highlight of Garstang's 4-2 win at Shelley, Nelson hit four without reply against St Helens Town, and Aaron Davis scored twice for Steeton who shared a 2-2 draw with AFC Darwen.
The major issues had all been settled in the First Division South, so it was just pride to play for, and already crowned champions Rylands rounded off a successful campaign with a 2-0 home win over Sandbach United.
Karl Noon scored twice for runners-up Vauxhall Motors in their 3-0 win at Stone Dominoes, and Stone Old Alleynians secured third place with Sam Wilson scoring twice in the 5-2 win at Cheadle Heath Nomads.
David Wright rescued a point for Wythenshawe Amateurs in a 1-1 home draw with Barnton that secured fourth place for the Ammies.
The remaining games all ended in home wins.
Kiarno Samms ended the season on a high with a hat trick in Stockport Town's 3-1 win over Cheadle Town, St Martins came from two goals down to eventually win 3-2 against Alsager Town, and an 89th minute penalty from Joe Rothwell clinched a 3-2 win for New Mills over Ellesmere Rangers.
Ricci Neill scored for Cammell Laird 1907 in the 1-0 win over Maine Road, and Daniel Needham and Thomas Wakefield were on target for Eccleshall in the 2-0 win over FC Oswestry Town.
