Buildbase FA Vase 5th Round Draw
Mon 7th January 2019 | FA Challenge Vase | By Paul Lawler
The draw for the 5th Round of the Buildbase FA Vase was made today at Wembley and was broadcast live on Talkport 2.
Irlam were the first name out of the hat when they were drawn against Surrey based Chertsey Town, current League leaders of the Combined Counties League. Irlam face a stern test but will hope their Vase luck continues with them being drawn at home in their six FA Vase games this season.
Northwich Victoria face another long trip when they travel to Cambridgeshire to face Histon. Histon are currently second in the Eastern Counties League Premier Division, a point behind leaders Godmanchester Rovers, but have three games in hand. They will be no strangers to Northwich having both played in the National League (Football Conference as it was know then) a decade ago.
Ties will be played on Saturday, February 2 with winning clubs will receiving £2250 and losing clubs picking up £750 from the FA’s prize fund.
The 5th Round draw in full:
Irlam v Chertsey Town
Cray Valley PM v Abbey Rangers
Histon v Northwich Victoria
Sholing v Godmanchester Rovers
Hebburn Town v West Auckland Town
Biggleswade v Windsor FC
Willand Rovers v Deeping Rangers
Canterbury City v Coventry United
