There's plenty of potential talking points from a full programme of 30 league fixtures on Saturday.

In the Premier Division, City of Liverpool and Congleton Town go into action with 100% records to preserve. In Congleton's case they have also yet to concede a goal, although that record might be under threat when they travel to face Squires Gate, who have scored ten goals in their three games so far.

City of Liverpool host Irlam, and will be hoping that lightning will strike twice in the metaphorical sense, as the Purps won the corresponding fixture 5-0 almost a year to the day last season.

Runcorn Town also have a full house from league games and also progressed in the FA Cup after a midweek victory over Hemsworth Miners Welfare. They host a West Didsbury & Chorlton side still looking for their first league win.

It will be interesting to see if Barnoldswick Town will be able to keep up their momentum from midweek when they travel to Litherland REMYCA, having posted a club record score in an FA Cup tie with their midweek 4-0 win at Billingham Synthonia.

Barlick weren't the only side to progress in midweek FA Cup replays, and no less impressive were Northwich Victoria, who host Winsford United in a Cheshire derby after taking the scalp of another local rival in Widnes at Wincham Park on Wednesday.

Ashton Athletic travel to Silsden on the back of a 4-1 replay win over AFC Liverpool, and although Burscough sit at the bottom of the Premier Division, they go into the game against Bootle in good heart after a penalty shoot out FA Cup over 1874 Northwich.

1874 will look to bounce back at home to Abbey Hey, another club looking for their first win of the season, and the form guide suggests a close encounter between Charnock Richard and Hanley Town, with both sides posting a win and a draw from their opening league games, although their interest in the FA Cup has ended.

The final game in the Premier Division sees Whitchurch Alport's voyage of discovery in the top flight take them to Padiham for the first time, where they will be targeting their first away win.

Division One North is headed by Avro on goal difference, and they head to Daisy Hill on the back of a good win at AFC Darwen in midweek. However, they have played a game more than Garstang and Carlisle City, who will be looking to preserve their 100% records against Lower Breck and Bacup Borough respectively.

St Helens Town in fourth place will look to maintain their good start at home to AFC Darwen, and Cougar Park, home of Keighley Cougars Rugby League club, will host a game in our league for the first time in eight years. Back then, Silsden played home games there, but it is now the home venue for Steeton, who will host a game for the first time when they entertain AFC Blackpool.

A fascinating game is in prospect at the MRG when high scoring Longridge Town welcome a Prestwich Heys side that have three wins from three games so far, and after AFC Liverpool lost in the FA Cup against Ashton Athletic in midweek, they will be hoping for better luck when they return to Ashton-in-Makerfield again, this time to face Ashton Town.

Shelley and Cleator Moor Celtic meet in West Yorkshire with both having picked up a win, a draw and a defeat in their opening three games, and Atherton LR and Holker Old Boys host Chadderton and Nelson respectively, looking to pick up their first points of the season.

The only team with a 100% league record in Division One South is Wythenshawe Town, and Rylands will be looking to knock them off their perch at the top of the table when Town visit the Recreation Club.

There is in fact a four way tie at the top, with New Mills, Abbey Hulton United and Cheadle Heath Nomads also on six points.

The Millers travel to Maine Road, the only team in the division to have played just one game, a trip to Birkenhead to face a Cammell Laird 1907 side looking for their first win is the destination for Abbey Hulton United, and Cheadle Heath Nomads host Vauxhall Motors who are one point and one place behind them in the table.

Two defeats in the opening three games will have been seen as a disappointing start by Sandbach United, who welcome 6th placed Stone Dominoes, and Doms' cross town rivals Stone Old Alleynians will be looking to keep their unbeaten record intact at home to Cheadle Town.

Eccleshall host Barnton with both sides having picked up three points from their opening two games, and FC Oswestry Town's previous two home games have produced a good win and a heavy defeat, which makes their game at home to Alsager Town a tough one to call.

Stockport Town go in search of their first win of the season at home to St Martins, and Ellesmere Rangers have the chance to move off the bottom of the table by taking something from their game against Wythenshawe Amateurs at the Beech Grove Stadium.

Another action packed day of goals and talking points beckons - enjoy your football wherever you choose to watch it.
