Below are the main points from the Hallmark Security League's Annual General Meeting in Blackpool.

Meeting commenced at 11.00am.

The constitution was announced as follows:

  • Runcorn Linnets are promoted to the Northern Premier League after winning our Premier Division during the 2017/18 season.
  • Widnes are promoted to the Northern Premier League after second runners up spot in our Premier Division during the 2017/18 season.
  • Silsden, Litherland REMYCA and Whitchurch Alport are promoted from the First Division to the Premier Division.
  • Maine Road, AFC Liverpool, Barnton and AFC Darwen are relegated from the Premier Division to the First Division.
  • Ellesmere Rangers and Stone Old Alleynians are laterally moved from the West Midlands (Regional) League to the First Division.
  • Fifteen new clubs are promoted into the league from various Step 7 leagues. These are Ashton Town, Avro, Cheadle Heath Nomads, Cleator Moor Celtic, Garstang, Longridge Town, Lower Breck, Rylands, St Martins, Shelley, Steeton, Stone Dominoes, Vauxhall Motors, Wythenshawe Amateurs and Wythenshawe Town.

Ahead of the 2018/19 season, the FA have created a new league at Step 6 in the North West with the NWCFL chosen to run this new league. Therefore we will have two First Division's moving forward, these being First Division North and First Division South. The full make up of all three of our divisions is therefore as follows:

Premier Division
1874 Northwich, Abbey Hey, Ashton Athletic, Barnoldswick Town, Bootle, Burscough, Charnock Richard, City of Liverpool FC, Congleton Town, Hanley Town, Irlam, Litherland REMYCA, Northwich Victoria, Padiham, Runcorn Town, Silsden AFC, Squires Gate, West Didsbury & Chorlton, Whitchurch Alport, Winsford United

First Division North

Paul Lawler, Joe Doran and Gary Langley were all re-elected to the League Management Committee to serve a term of three years. Andy Nelson has stepped down from the League Management Committee. 

There are still vacancies on the committee though and the league will now look to co-opt people due to the lack of applicants this year

Chairman Paul Lawler closed the meeting at 11.40am.

 


 

Following the meeting, the cup draws for the first two rounds of the Macron Challenge Cup and the First Division Cup took place. These can be found on separate news stories.

The weekend concludes with the NWCFL Annual Dinner and Presentation Evening which is at the Imperial Hotel, Blackpool from 7.30pm. We will bring you all winners and photographs from this evening over the coming days.
