Following the postponement of today’s Easter Monday fixtures and the poor weather forecast for the coming week, the League’s Emergency Committee has today written to The FA to request an extension to the season.
This follows the unprecedented weather which has seen the League lose almost 350 matches this season.
The League Management Committee awaits the response from The FA and will be discussing the implications of any extension on promotion and relegation positions and cup competitions when it meets on Wednesday evening.
The League will make no further comment until after this meeting.
