Two ties in the Emirates FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round took top billing in the fixture list at the weekend.
Both ties provided their fair share of talking points and excitement, and 1874 Northwich will take their place in Monday's draw for the next round after their 2-2 draw at home to Ossett Town.
After twice going behind to goals from visiting skipper Alex Peterson, Mark Jones and a last gasp equaliser from Adam Whitlock earned the Greens a replay in West Yorkshire on Tuesday evening.
However, it proved to be the end of the road for Ashton Athletic, who fell to a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Chorley, although the Yellows can take consolation that their excellent performance was watched by a record crowd at Brocstedes Park and by thousands more online, as the match was streamed live on the BBC Sport website.
Meanwhile in the Premier Division, it was a case of high fives for both Runcorn Town and Runcorn Linnets, who continue to set the pace at the top of the table.
It's now ten wins out of ten for Town, who remain at the top of the table after a 5-2 win over Congleton Town, in which Mark Reed scored twice and leading scorer Craig Cairns added another to his tally to take him to 15 for the season.
Five different players were on the score sheet for Runcorn Linnets in the 5-0 win at Squires Gate, a result that keeps Gate rooted to the bottom of the table.
Charnock Richard are third after two goals from Carl Grimshaw helped them to a 3-1 win over Bootle, and Winsford United are fifth after Brandon Moores' 88th minute winner sealed a 2-1 win at Abbey Hey.
City of Liverpool's 4-4 draw with Barnoldswick Town was candidate for game of the day, Tom Peterson scoring twice for the Purples and Aaron Hollindrake doing likewise for the visitors.
The Purps are now in sixth place, one place ahead of Hanley Town who won 1-0 at home to AFC Liverpool, Dan Cope on target for the Potteries Park men.
Award for individual performance of the day has to go to Chappy Massamba of AFC Darwen, who scored four times in his side's 5-4 win at West Didsbury & Chorlton.
Liam Morrison of Irlam also enjoyed his afternoon, scoring a hat trick in the 4-1 win at Burscough.
A ding-dong affair at Townfield was clinched by Kieron Pickup's 87th minute winner for Padiham in their 3-2 win over Barnton, and Maine Road's 2-1 home win over Northwich Victoria was decdied by an 80th minute winner from Connor Hughes.
In the First Division, Silsden AFC and Litherland REMYCA occupy the two top spots after both enjoyed good away wins.
Goals from Kyle Hancock, Daniel Forrest and Joshua Eastwood earned the Cobbydalers a 3-1 win at Stockport Town that maintained their 100% record at the top of the table, and Luke Holden scored twice in Remy's 4-1 win at FC Oswestry Town.
Prestwich Heys are third after a 2-2 draw at home to Abbey Hulton United, although they had to come from behind to earn a point after two goals from Kieron Ball gave the visitors the lead.
Alsager Town are fourth after a 3-2 win at Carlisle City, Kyle Stubbs scoring the decisive third goal on the hour, and Whitchurch Alport are fifth with Simon Everall's hat trick the highlight in a convincing 5-0 win over New Mills at Yockings Park.
The eye catching result of the day was at Sandbach United, with the home side remaining in sixth place despite losing 4-1 at home to AFC Blackpool.
Elsewhere, Charles Macinnes scored twice in Cammell Laird 1907's 3-1 win at home to Atherton LR, as did Leon Iluobe of Chadderton in the 2-2 draw at home to Holker Old Boys.
An entertaining affair at Daisy Hill saw the home side fall three goals down to St Helens Town before staging a second half recovery, but eventually lost 4-3. Shaun Brady scored twice for Town.
Nelson shared a 2-2 draw with Eccleshall, thanks to a goal from David Patrick rescuing a point for the Admirals.
