Ashton Athletic - in advance of their big FA Cup tie against Chorley at the weekend, the Yellows have been boosted by support from their near neighbours Ashton Town.
Ashton Town Club Chairman Mark Hayes said: "Rivalry in football can go one of two ways, you can hate and be jealous, or you can simply support and be proud for the Town.
"I have great respect for the guys up at Athletic, and I am encouraging our fans and committee to go and support on their big day. Kick off has been brought forward to 12.30pm up at Athletic, whilst our game kicks off at 3pm at home to Knutsford, meaning we can all catch both games.
"To show our support we are offering anyone who goes to the Athletic game on Saturday by giving them FREE ENTRY at our game. You simply just have to prove to our Gateman that you have been to Ashton Athletic prior to our fixture. We don't want fans to be conscious of paying for two games on one day, so it's our way of helping with that."
Reacting to the news on Twitter, Athletic Chairman Jimmy Whyte said: From one Chairman to another Chairman "Thank you very much Mark. What a fantastic sporting gesture. Grass root clubs should stick together and help each other out whenever they can and if we can help Mark out in any way we will".
Nelson - over 50 students from the local area spent the day at Little Wembley last week, helping to paint and carry out general maintenance work at the ground.
The event was part of a new community partnership for the Admirals, where they hosted a Volunteers Community Day in partnership with UCLAN's Centre for Volunteering and Community Leadership.
"We are delighted with this partnership that sees UCLAN students volunteering their time to help the football club," said Club Chief Executive Adam Keizer. "We have very old facilities here at Little Wembley run by a small team of people and so to have 50 pairs of hands for the day is a massive help and a great way to get local young people involved with the football club".
Irlam – the club are holding a Sportsman’s evening on Saturday 11th November in the club house at the Ambitek Stadium. Guest speaker on the night is Norman Whiteside, the former Manchester United, Everton and Northern Ireland striker.
New Mills - The Millers have been handed a home tie in the First Round of the Derbyshire Cup, with AFC Kilburn of the Central Midlands League drawn to visit Church Lane. The tie will take place on Tuesday October 3 2017, with a 19:45 kick off.
Whitchurch Alport – local newspaper the Whitchurch Herald will be running a full page feature on the club in next week’s issue, and will be at the ground this Saturday for the game against New Mills to speak to club officials and volunteers.
