A big week for Colls
There's no doubt that Atherton Collieries put a big marker down in the past week, with wins over their nearest promotion rivals Bootle and 1874 Northwich.
The score lines may have been narrow, the games may have been hard fought, but Michael Clegg's men stepped up to the mark and anyone doubting their promotion credentials must be wavering now.
There are, of course, plenty of points still to be played for, but Colls appear to have taken on the mantle as the team to beat.
An enjoyable day on the coast for Ashton
One team who earned some long overdue cheer was Ashton Town, whose 5-0 win at AFC Blackpool will no doubt give them a much needed boost.
Town have been rooted to the bottom of the First Division table for some months now, but at long last their first win since 24th September and the first away win of the season at least lifts the gloom a little.
They still face a battle to avoid finishing in a relegation position, but Saturday's win at least gives them something to build on.
Heys on fire
One team running into a bit of form at the right time are Prestwich Heys, whose 2-1 win over Daisy Hill on Saturday was their fourth in succession.
What's more, promotion chasers Litherland REMYCA and Whitchurch Alport were among the teams defeated, and on their own patch in each case, and the run has taken Heys to within striking distance of the Division One play-off places.
With three out of their next four games at Adie Moran Park, the next few weeks could define Heys' season.
Lions run continues
One of the most remarkable turnarounds of the season has been at Stockport Town, who extended their unbeaten run to seven games under manager Dave Wild with a 1-0 win over promotion chasing Charnock Richard on Saturday.
The upheaval around Christmas is now well and truly in the past for the Lions, with the reshaped squad proving they are more than a match for any in the division.
A challenge for the play offs is a big ask, but if the current run of form continues, Town coudl still have a say in the shake up at the end of the season.
Nets keep bulging at the Venue
If you want a guarantee of a game with goals, it looks like home games involving FC Oswestry Town are still as good a bet as any.
The Venue hosted a 6-6 draw with Silsden and an 11-0 win over Rock Rovers in the Shropshire Premier Cup earlier in the season, and recent games have also produced their fair share of entertainment too.
Aside of a goalless draw against Stockport Town, five of the last six games at the Venue have delivered at least four goals, the latest being a 4-2 win over Holker Old Boys on Saturday.
With Michael Barton's men still having five home league games to play, there could still be plenty more goal fests to enjoy down at Park Hall between now and the end of the season.
