For the second week in a row, the weather had a say on the league programme, with half of the fixtures falling foul of the wet weather that swept over parts of North West England on Friday.

In the Premier Division, Runcorn Linnets were the only team in the top five to see some action, but they were involved in a match to remember at home to Squires Gate, eventually winning 4-3 after being 3-2 down with 25 minutes remaining.

Kyle Hamid started the revival with a penalty, and then two goals in four minutes from Kristian Holt and Stuart Wellstead completed a dramatic comeback.  The win moved Linnets into joint second place alongside Atherton Collieries and Bootle, whose scheduled game at the Kensite Stadium was postponed.

Hanley Town were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Nelson, a point that keeps them in sixth place.  The visitors earned their valuable point in their battle to beat the drop thanks to a goal from Billy McKenna, although they also missed a first half penalty.

A second half goal from Josh Essery secured the points for AFC Liverpool with a 1-0 home win over Congleton Town, and all the goals came in the first half at Brantingham Road where Maine Road won 2-1 against Barnoldswick Town.

Mark Threlfall put the visitors ahead but Matthew Morgan and Richard Williams struck at the other end to earn Road their fourth win in the last five games.

Barnton continued their recent good form with a 1-0 home win over New Mills that moves them further away from the drop zone.  Christopher Smith scored the only goal of the game for the Villagers on 31 minutes.

Two goals from Jordan Johnson in the final 24 minutes rescued a point for Winsford United in a 2-2 home draw with Ashton Athletic.

In the First Division, Whitchurch Alport took advantage of the inactivity of their fellow promotion contenders to move back to the top of the table with a 2-1 win over Stockport Town at Yockings Park, Dean Twigg grabbing the winner just after the hour.

Widnes moved to within two points of a play off place after a 2-2 draw at home to Holker Old Boys, with Christopher Lomax scoring both goals for Joey Dunn's men.

FC Oswestry Town continued their recent good form with a 3-0 win over Bacup Borough at the Venue, Jack Harris scoring twice, and four different players were on target for St Helens Town in the 4-0 win at Eccleshall.

Elsewhere, goals from Ryan Errington, Michael Reed and Thomas Lucock in the opening 25 minutes gave Carlisle City a 3-0 lead over Atherton LR that they held to the end, and AFC Blackpool shared a 1-1 draw with Cheadle Town.
