A full programme of Division One fixtures take place this weekend as the fixtures still come thick and fast as the Division starts to take real shape.

Starting in alphabetical order we see an intrigueing clash at Edge Green Street where Ashton Town host Litherland Remyca.  Ashton Town's form has been as surprising as it has been poor in the league so far this season and they know that they will need to clock up points soon if they are to get out of trouble before the games start spreading out.  Without a League win since their home win over AFC Blackpool back in late August they will face a tough challenge against a Remyca side who generally travel well.

Remyca are without a win in four at the moment and they will be looking to bounce back from their midweek defeat to local rivals City of Liverpool FC.  An eventful evening saw the visitors edge the tie 2-3 in a feisty affair at Litherland Sports Park so The Remy will be looking to address their poor run of form.

On the subject of top of the table City of Liverpool, they travel to Prestwich Heys' Adie Moran Park and they will have been buoyed by a win that they had to grind out against their nearby rivals but they sit top of the pile and are currently unbeaten in four but face three games in a week includung games against title rivals Widnes and Alsager Town.  This will be Heys first League fixture since 24th September and in League form they are three wins from their last four.  They will take heart from a solid looking win last weekend over Remyca in the Reusch Division One cup.

Atherton LR and Cheadle Town find themselves in the bottom six of the table at present and both of these sides meet at Crilly Park this weekend knowing that a win could give them a strong boost towards mid-table.  The home side won their last league match against Ashton Town in midweek having won one and lost five of their previous six in the league so they will be looking to the midweek result to act as a catalyst for a run of form.

Cheadle Town are in a disappointing run of form given their usual standards win only one win in their last ten games in all competitions and that was away at Holker at the beginning of the month.  They do seem to have some issues at the back having conceded 19 goals in their last five games in all competitions so this looks quite an even fixture.

Silsden host FC Oswestry Town in a re-run of a game that saw that epic 6-6 scoreline at Park Hall earlier in the season.  Silsden had been in great frm up until the last couple of weeks with consecutive back to back defeats to Sandbach and City of Liverpool respectively so they will be hoping that home advantage is just that as they welcome a club who are in similar intermittent form at the moment.

Second top, Charnock Richard host second bottom Eccleshall at Mossie Park as the side from West Lancs look to keep the pressure on City of Liverpool at the top of the table.  They look to be favorites for this one coming in with seven consecutive wins in all competition with a goal difference of +22 compared to Eccleshalls -27.  Eccleshall have had a poor run of form of late but they can still beat anyone on thier day but this looks a tough ask.

Alsager Town are another of the sides challenging near the top of the Division and they will face a tough looking trip to a resurgent Stockport Town. The Lambeth Grove side have four wins in their last five in all competitions but have found their scoring boots in the process knocking in 19 goals in the process and that includes a 3-0 win over the same opponents away in the FA Vase just a few weeks ago.  Alsager have been in indifferent form in cup games of late but their league form is strong, unbeaten in their last nine outings in the League this looks like a great clash of two strong sides challenging at the right end of the table, a win for Alsager puts them back in touch with the top three whilst if Stockport win they rise to the edge of the play-off spots.

On the subjecct of the top three, the one side we haven't touched on in there yet is Whitchurch Alport and they welcome lowly AFC Blackpool to Yockings Park in another game that looks like if it goes to form could be a tough day for the travelling side.  The tangerines are without a win since the 28th August and have struggled to find any sort of form, home or away of late which sees them too near the Divisions trap door for comfort.  They will have to pull out all the stops this weekend if they are to take anything from the game against one of the Divisions in-form sides with only one defeat in their last nine league games.  Depending on results, if Alport win and results go their way elsewhere they could be top by the end of Saturday.

Chadderton host Holker Old Boys at the ARK Fleetch Stadium with both sides currently in mid-table.  Both of these clubs will be looking to make a push for the play-off spots with neither in any particularly consistent form at the moment although it's worth a note that Holker have netted 16 goals in their last four games in all competitions.

A side who are in decent form at the moment are Widnes, four straight wins in all competitions netting 18 times sees Joey Dunn's team in blistering form at the moment and charging towards the top six.  They travel to Daisy Hill this weekend who have been consistently inconsistent, after a good run of form in September they are without a win in their last five games although last time out they did hold City of Liverpool to a 2-2 draw on their own patch.

For large parts of the season it looked like St Helens Town vs Carlisle City would be the clubs landmark game for their return to their home town, but as yet due to on-going works at the Ruskin Drive facility they are just a few weeks shy of being able to do that yet.  As a result St Helens have had to borrow Atherton Collieries Kensite Stadium for the weekend as they make the relatively short trip down the road to host Carlisle in slightly unfamilar surroundings. After a difficult start to the season St Helens do seem to be finding their feet on the park with three wins in their last four games, the last being a 3-1 win away at AFC Blackpool in midweek.

Carlisle have struggled a bit of late with eight defeats and two wins in their last ten games in all competitions having had a fairly comfortable start.  They have slipped into the bottom five but they will be hoping that the unfamilar ground may prove a leveller and nab a win that could start a climb up the table.

Last but certaily not least we see Bacup Borough and Sandbach goig head to head at the Brian Boys West View Stadium.  Bacup have played a numbefr of tough looking games of late and like many been involved in a number of cup competitions, as a result their steady climb up the table may have gone un-noticed to all but the keenest of observers.  Having wn three of their last four games in the league they will be looking to claw back points on Sandbach who currently occupy the last play-off spot.

A busy weekend with all sides in action and a number of games that could effect all parts oof the table, as the league table starts to really take shape it's a fantastic weekend of games and here's hoping for some great action and looking at the form of a number of sides, plenty of goals.
