Around The League In 40 Weeks

For the first time since 2002, the North West Counties Football League – now the Hallmark Security Football League – has a full complement of 44 clubs.

Many of the clubs will be familiar to seasoned followers of the League, but the six new clubs joining our First Division will generate great interest and give us all new places to visit.

As a celebration of the diversity of our clubs, and the towns and cities they represent, there will be a new feature for the League website throughout the 2016/17 season. Written by League Management Committee member Stewart Taylor, each week will see a feature relating to one of our member clubs.

The format will be in several parts which will give readers the opportunity to identify the club in question using the information given. Typically, this will involve a write up and a photograph but will also include a “quick link” question.

The quick link question will be, at times, extremely cryptic knowing Stewart but, hopefully, will be a good challenge.

The club in question will be identified the following week along with an explanation of the quick link, which we hope all will find interesting, if slightly curious.

Just one point - anyone thinking that, if they have seen Stewart around their ground on a Saturday trying furtively to take photos on his mobile phone, they will be the featured club the following week, they may well find that they have misled themselves. The purpose of pre-season is many fold!

Each of Stewart's visits will be published each week throughout the season on a Tuesday afternoon, with the first article appearing on the website next Tuesday.
