Matthew on form for 1874
1874 Northwich's 7-0 win at Padiham on Saturday was the club's record away win, and the game also demonstrated once again the striking prowess of in-form front man Matthew Beadle.
The striker scored five of his side's seven goals, continuing his impressive run of goalscoring form which has seen him hit the back of the net in six of the Greens last seven games.
With plenty of games still to play, forthcoming opponents will no doubt be wary of facing a striker in such a red hot run of form.
Daisy continue their good run
Daisy Hill's mid table position in Division One may leave them with too much to do to make the play offs, but they have certainly been making an impact on the promotion race in recent weeks.
Craig Thomas's men recorded wins against Bacup Borough and Hanley Town, and on Saturday drew at Barnton, in each case results which dented their opponents' promotion hopes.
In their remaining games, Daisy have to play Ashton Town, Litherland REMYCA, Stockport Town, Cheadle Town and Bacup Borough, so they will certainly be playing a part in deciding the makeup of the promotion places come May.
No let up from the Bears
One team quietly and effectively going about their business at the moment are Congleton Town.
Their impressive form during March led to them being awarded the Premier Division Club of the Month award, and they kept the run going on Saturday, with the win against AFC Darwen extending their unbeaten run to 10 games.
With the Bears currently second in the Premier Division form table, and sitting comfortably in sixth place in the league table, they seem set fair for a strong end to the season.
Don't underestimate Eccleshall
Based on recent form, probably the least predictable result from Saturday's games was Eccleshall's 5-0 win at Litherland REMYCA.
With Remy having an eye on a play off position, they would no doubt have fancied their chances against a team without a win in 12 games, but the form book well and truly went out of the window.
It's not been the best of seasons for Eccleshall, but they clearly haven't lost their fighting spirit and their next opponents Bacup Borough, Stockport Town and Barnton will have noted Saturday's result with interest.
Bacup's goalscoring streak continues
Bacup Borough's 5-1 win at Whitchurch Alport continued their recent run of impressive goalscoring form.
Brent Peters's side have now scored 16 goals in their last four games, and appear to be hitting form just at the right moment as they launch a bid for a play-off place.
