Message From Alan Smith

He may still be hospitalised after his recent stroke, but Padiham Secretary Alan Smith is still playing a part in match days at the Arbories.
Padiham committee member Dave Parkes has taken temporary control of producing the Padiham match programme in Alan's absence, but for Wednesday evening’s issue for the game against AFC Liverpool, there was a welcome message from Alan, written and sent from his hospital ward.
In his note, alongside other welcoming comments to visiting supporters and sponsors, Alan said: “These are my first programme notes since my hospitalisation because of my "stroke", so I would like to thank all of you who have forwarded your best wishes.
“It will be some time before you will see me again because of problems with my left arm, hand, fingers, left leg and toes, however my speech is much better.
“If you do find you have high blood pressure or cholesterol, then make sure you see your doctor straightaway.
“Can I say a big thank you to all of those taking on my duties and to my daughter April and wife Alison for sorting out my emails and paying invoices”.
Dave Parkes said: “I went to see Alan on Thursday and he was in good spirits, but knows it is going to be a long recovery".
