Holker Old Boys - the League received the following message from Bill Montague, Secretary of Northern League club Dunston UTS, after their visit to Holker Old Boys in the FA Cup last Saturday.

"I write on behalf of all at Dunston UTS FC to express our gratitude to the people involved at Holker Old Boys FC for the superb hospitality we received on our visit in the FA Cup on Saturday. Their Club is a credit to your fine League.

"The ground was excellent, with not one item of litter to be seen, both around the stadium or in the dressing rooms. They can be proud of all aspects of their conduct and should be commended for being a great advert for the NWCFL".

Chadderton - an unusual stat from Chadderton's 5-1 win over Daisy Hill last Saturday is that all three of their substitutes that came on scored in their 5-1 win.  Gareth Morris (68 minutes), Nathaniel Martin (75) and Benjamin Fletcher (78) were all on target, top and tailed by goals from James Curley in the 45th and 83rd minutes.

AFC Liverpool - midfielder Liam Loughlin made his 100th appearance for the Reds in the 3-3 draw at AFC Darwen on 22nd August. Liam joined the club at the end of 2012, and started this season well, scoring in three successive games.

Reds manager Paul Moore said: "Liam's been a great stalwart for us. I've said it before, to have him at this club is a bonus. It shows great character to play 100 games, because 100 games at any level is quality.

"Congratulations to Liam from myself, the staff, the board members and the supporters and hopefully there's another hundred games from him".

Whitchurch Alport - the club has benefitted from the generosity of staff at the Tesco store in Whitchurch, who raised £500 from sales of second hand books, and kindly donated it to the club. The club will put the money towards replacement floodlight bulbs.

1874 Northwich - the Greens hit the three figure mark on sales of season tickets, with 104 sold up to the last Saturday in August.

Runcorn Linnets - the army of Runcorn Linnets volunteers were rewarded with another highly-successful car boot sale fundraising event on Bank Holiday Monday, following on from the club's golf day in July.

The annual event took place at Sutton Fields, Sutton Weaver, and despite the early morning drizzle, the skies cleared and the event soon filled up with sellers and buyers from far and wide.  The club would like to thank the many volunteers who helped out with a multitude of tasks on the day.

Two games in one day - in case anyone hasn't noticed, it's worth mentioning that followers of our league - who have a car at their disposal - have the opportunity to watch two games back to back on Saturday afternoon.

At the Select Security Stadium, Widnes host Whitchurch Alport in a Division One game that kicks off at 1 pm, and at the final whistle, a eight minute journey of 3.6 miles over the Runcorn Bridge will take you to the Pavilions, hopefully just in time for kick off in the FA Vase tie between Runcorn Town and Litherland REMYCA.
