Stats Update: Week Five

Tue 30th August 2022 | Statistics
By Kevin Lawton

Our resident statistician Kevin Lawton has been casting his all watchful eye over proceedings over the last week and the Bank Holiday Monday games. He has identified several milestones

Overall Milestones

AFC Blackpool’s win at Steeton was their 500th in the league

Eccleshall’s draw at home to Alsager was their 650th league game

Sandbach United played their 200th game with the draw at Abbey Hey on Saturday.

Stockport Town conceded their 400th league goal in beating Cheadle Heath Nomads 5-3.

Home Milestone

AFC Liverpool conceded their 400th home goal as they beat FC Isle of Man 5-2

Barnoldswick also did the same in losing at home to Prestwich Heys.

Holker Old Boys scored their 1050th home goal when beating FC St Helens 3-1

Away Milestone

Atherton LR conceded their 1500th away goal when they went down 2-1 at New Mills on Saturday

Burscough’s defeat at Vauxhall Motors saw them concede their 600th away goal

Goal Heroes

Bobbie McDonnell hit three for Vauxhall Motors in their 5-0 Vase drubbing of Swallownest in the FA Vase

Lewis Buckley, also for Vauxhall, hit three against Burscough.

Richard Seear scored all three for AFC Blackpool but his side still lost 4-3 at Holker.

Penalties

Current NWCFL Penalty King is Jason Walker of Holker with four successful spot kicks.

Clean Sheet Record

Avro finally conceded their first goals of the season as they lost at Emley on penalties on Saturday. Amazingly they had gone eight games from the start of the season without conceding and they have still to concede a league goal after six games – and six wins. This beats Congleton Town’s league run at the start of the 2018/19 season of five clean sheets.

One’s to Watch Out For

Congleton Town are one home win short of 250 and Barnoldswick are one win away from 200 overall.
