Milestones From the last seven days:

The Christmas programme brought just a handful of milestones this season.

Congleton Town finally played their 1000th game in their 2-1 defeat at Burscough, which was also their 500th away game. Alsager Town’s defeat at home to Rocester was their 800th league game and Avro reached 100 games as they beat Northwich Victoria, 2-1. Atherton LR’s second goal in their 2-4 defeat at Daisy Hill was the clubs 1,850th.

Home milestones were reached by Cleator Moor Celtic with their 50th game, Padiham conceded their 750th goal as they lost against Charnock Richard and Steeton conceded their 100th goal when Bury AFC hit their second in the 2-0 win.

Away milestones saw Longridge play their 50th game with the 2-2 draw at Barnoldwick and AFC Liverpool’s equaliser at Lower Breck was their 450 away goal.

Goal Heroes

Christmas brough no hat-trick heroes this season, though, Oumar Camara (Avro), Brian Mabhena (Nelson) and Liam Delaney (West Didsbury and Chorlton) all hit a brace.

An odd stat, Ellesemere Rangers scored seven against St Martins, each goal from a different scorer!

Appearances

Now that 2021 games have come to an end, I thought I would look at current appearance stats across the divisions.

Premier Division

Steve Hewitt (Wythenshawe Town) leads the way with 33 appearances, having started 32 and come on as a sub once.

Just two players have started every single game for their clubs: Ben Barnes (Skelmersdale) and Tom Pope (Congleton Town) . In addition to these two, Joshua Nicholson (Ashton Athletic) has appeared in every game (one sub appearance), Moses Yoak (Longridge), Laurent Mendy (Macclesfield) and Jordan Darr (Charnock Richard) have all started every League game, while Jack Coop (Prestwich), Michael Howard (Skelmersdale), Dylan Chalice (Winsford), Arron Johns (Congleton) and Ben Holmes (Vauxhall Motors) have appeared in every league game.

Division One North

Campion pair of Mark Ferguson and Robbie Graham lead the way with 29 appearances each, both haven’t missed a game but both have been used subs.

Six players have started every game: Matthew Williams (Bury AFC), Mohammed Farhan Subhani (Steeton), Jordan Scofield (Chadderton), Joseph Fallon (Bacup Borough) and Jamie Hodgson and Kevin Watkin (both Holker OB).

In addition, Robbie Graham (Campion), George Chadwick (Atherton LR), Mark Ashworth (Chadderton) and Brian Mabhena and Charlie Lloyd (both Nelson) have all started every league game. Others to have appeared in every league game are: Daniel Keene (Campion), Phil Marsh (Pilkington), Jamie Apperley (St Helens), Daniel Squired (Garstang), Dan Stocker (Golcar), Ryan McLean (AFC Blackpool) and Callum Hewitt (Bacup Borough).

Division One South

Dylan Fitzgerald (Abbey Hey) and Andrew Jones (West Didsbury & Chorlton) are top of the pile with 31 appearances each. Andrew is also one of only two players to have started every game, Rick Peters (Wythenshawe Amateurs) being the other.

In addition to these, Robbie Heaton (Sandbach Utd) has started every league game and Kyle Foley (Cheadle Heath Nomads), Elliot Cooke (New Mills), Ben Wood (Stafford Town) and Ben Haddaway (Brocton) have appeared in every league game.
