It is a big weekend of football in and around the NWCFL as the movers and shakers start pushing away… or start to get cast adrift.

Looking at the Premier Division there are nine games in that this weekend due to Squires Gate being in FA Cup action.  Macclesfield have found their way through the gears and they will be hoping to avoid an upset as they host Litherland Remyca who parted company with their manager in midweek and sit at the foot of the table.  If the Silkmen do slip then Wythenshawe Town are hot on their heels, however they travel to in-form Skelmersdale United this weekend.

Congleton are also in the mix but also on the road as they head up to East Lancs to take on Padiham.  Northwich Victoria will be keen to keep the pressure on the leaders but face an AFC Liverpool side that have only one defeat in their last six in all competitions.

Longridge Town are in the chasing pack and they will be looking to make the most of home advantage as they host Irlam at the Mike Riding Ground.  Winsford United travel to Lower Breck this weekend with both teams looking to rediscover their respective early form, having slipped down the table in recent weeks.

Ashton Athletic and Prestwich Heys both currently sit in the bottom four, not much between them in the table but meet at Brocstedes Park.  They will be hoping not to cancel each other out as they both could do with a boost.  Just above them in the table are Burscough and Runcorn Town who are both in a similar situation, they go head to head at The Viridor Community Stadium this weekend, both looking to take the spoils that could lift the victor into a comfortable mid-table position.

The other Premier Division game on Saturday sees Barnoldswick Town host Vauxhall Motors.  Barnoldswick are without a league win since mid-August and have fell off the pace somewhat, whilst Vauxhall’s recent revival has stalled courtesy of three straight defeats.

That wraps up the Premier Division Preview for this weekend, however, hat tipped to Squires Gate this weekend who host Pontefract Collieries in the second qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup.
