In Division One South this weekend there are a number of fixtures that are likely to impact the table and catch the eye on a busy weekend of football for NWCFL clubs.

League leaders Sandbach United will be looking to consolidate top spot but face a tricky looking trip to Maine Road this weekend. The Cheshire club lead the division on goal difference and travel to Brantingham Road in good form. Second placed New Mills are also on the road, they have an identical points record to Sandbach and they travel to Barnton this weekend. Barnton currently prop up the table and will be keen to get a result and steer clear of any rough seas.

Speaking of rough seas, FC Isle of Man make their regular ferry trip this weekend as they travel to the ProSeal Stadium to take on Cheadle Heath Nomads. The Ravens clocked up their first win last weekend at Alsager whilst the Nomads go into this game having found their feet with a win and a draw over the last seven days to get their points account open and to commence their climb up the table.

It’s the Abbey derby at Drayton Beaumont Park as Abbey Hulton United welcome Abbey Hey with only a few points separating these clubs in the upper mid table area. Abbey Hulton have lost their last two whilst Abbey Hey go into this game on a good run of form with three straight wins which includes their 8-0 home win over Brocton.   Brocton also have limited travelling to do this week as they make the relatively short journey to high flying Ellesmere Rangers who are unbeaten this season.

The short Journey theme continues at Park Road Stadium as Cheadle Town welcome neighbours Wythenshawe Amateurs. The Ammies lost in midweek at home to New Mills which was their first defeat of the season whilst Cheadle Town go into the game after three wins on the bounce, including their 5-1 win over St Martins last weekend.

Rocester could do with a shot in the arm at the moment, they currently sit a place above the drop zone, however the tough games continue for them as Matt Jansen’s Stockport Town come calling to Hillsfield this weekend. Town themselves will be keen for a win, currently sitting a point ahead of their hosts. Eccleshall are another club who would benefit from some points on the board but they will have to see off a tough looking Cammell Laird 1907 team this weekend. Lairds ended a run of three straight defeats in midweek with a 4-1 win over St Martins which lifted them to tenth spot, whilst Eccleshall sit in eighteenth with only one win to their name so far this campaign.

Stafford Town welcome West Didsbury and Chorlton to Evans park with the Staffordshire side having found their feet it seems with three straight wins which includes Tuesdays 3-1 away win at Rocester which lifted them to eighth in the table. Meanwhile West Didsbury currently sit fourth, this despite two draws in their last three games, although they did get back to winning ways last time out with a 6-0 win over Barnton.

All in all, nine games scheduled in Division One South tomorrow, if you are heading along to any of them, please remember to follow each clubs safety advice and enjoy the game.
