The midweek action kicked-off in the NWCFL on Monday evening with two cracking ties.

160 fans saw Whitchurch Alport return home with all three points following a 2-1 win at Winsford United in the NWCFL top flight.

Whilst in the First Division South, league leaders Vauxhall Motors maintained their form with a 3-1 victory at Maine Road.

Just 24 hours later, it was a night to forget for the NWCFL in the County Cups. Northwich Victoria exited 3-0 to Nantwich Town and Warrington Town defeated 1874 Northwich 1-0 in the Cheshire Senior Cup Quarter-Final. Whilst Irlam lost 2-1 to FC United of Manchester with nearly 500 spectators onlooking.

In the NWCFL Premier Division  Bootle narrowed the gap to the summit to four points following a 4-0 victory over Hanley Town - their 8th victory in the last 9 games. Rylands scored late on to win 3-2 at Skelmersdale United - Sam O'Halleron with the 86th-minute winner.

Elsewhere, in the First Division North, Ashton Town moved up to fifth following a 3-0 win at Cleator Moor Celtic, whilst Shelley edged a tight 2-1 win against Garstang.

In the First Division South, Wythenshawe Town hit five goals without reply at Barnton, whilst FC Oswestry Town fell to a surprising 1-0 defeat to Stockport Town and Abbey Hey moved onto 50 points for the season after a 3-0 victory over Sandbach United.

The midweek was completed on Wednesday night when Runcorn Town hosted Longridge Town and it was Paul McManus' side who ran out 3-1 winners. 

The action returns on Saturday when most of the NWCFL are in action, with Longridge Town taking centre-stage in their Buildbase FA Vase 5th Round tie against Hebburn Town.
