1874 Northwich manager Wayne Goodison, "Really proud of the players today. I thought there were all outstanding in the way they went about the game today. Another very good side in Bootle who we knew we had to be at our best to get anything from the game.

"In the end, a great finish and a penalty won it for us and I think just about on balance gave us the deserved 3 points."

Burscough 2-0 Whitchurch Alport

Burscough manager Nick Matthews, "Lads worked hard in training, we decided to change our formation, by doing so it meant changing personnel. We got off to a great start by scoring in the first minute via a penalty.

"We played some good football at times but had to also be a bit cautious as Alport looked good on the counter-attack. Alport had a 15 min spell in the second half, but the defence stood firm.

"George Lomax scored the first of hopefully many in a Burscough shirt, it came after a brilliant run from Adam Dixon; who on the day was superb, he covered every blade of grass on Victoria Park. Happy to get the points and a clean sheet, not getting carried away with things and we will take each game as they come."

Hanley Town 2-6 Ashton Athletic

Athletic Ashton manager Dougie Pitts, "I thought the lads were excellent today and we were a good value for our win. That's 12 goals in the last two games which is pleasing.

"We didn't have the best preparations for the match: getting stuck in an accident on the motorway and only arriving at 2:30 pm. We also lost two players to illness this morning, one of which was our goalkeeper. Luke from the Under 18s has stepped in at the last minute and certainly didn't look out of place. He was alert and made two excellent saves. Massive credit to such a young lad.

"Credit to Hanley who scored towards the end of the first half and possibly could have had another to make it 2-3 which could have put a different look on the game. It is always a tough place to go so to come away with six goals and three points are excellent.

"Some of our football on a tricky pitch was excellent and we scored some superb goals today. A special mention to Cal Wilson who gets stick off the management and the lads for not scoring enough, but he has popped up with a fantastic header today."

Northwich Victoria 1-2 Longridge Town

Longridge Town manager Lee Ashcroft, "Fantastic win today against a good friend of mine in Ste Wilkes and Northwich Victoria, passed the ball really well on a good pitch and it just shows how far we have come as a team. A massive couple of weeks ahead."

Padiham 1-1 Charnock Richard

Charnock Richard manager Ryan Donnellan, "In all honesty, we were lucky to get a point, Padiham had plenty of chances although at 1-0 we had chances to make it 2-0. Considering how wet the pitch was it held up well."

Skelmersdale United 3-3 Squires Gate

Squires Gate manager Luke Evans, "A disappointing day for us for sure. I didn't think we were great in the first half but took our chances well and found ourselves 3-0 up at half time.

"Second half we carried on with the same mistakes from the first half and got punished. To give away a three-goal lead is inexcusable at any level but we have to react to this on Tuesday.

"Despite my disappointment, it shows how far we have come in a short period of time to be aggrieved with a point away from home. We will work hard and get things right now."
