PREMIER DIVISION - 1874 NORTHWICH

DIVISION ONE SOUTH - VAUXHALL MOTORS

Reusch Goalkeeper of the Month for NWCFL Premier Division

Runcorn Town's Adam Reid

Games Played: 5

Man of the Match: 1

Clean Sheets: 2

Conceded: 5

Reason for Nomination: "Runcorn Town came within a whisker of lifting the Club of the Month for November 2019, and a large reason for that was the improved defensive performance of the team, exemplified by nobody more than goalkeeper Adam Reid. Reid added two more clean sheets in November to move to nine clean sheets for the season, and he was single-handedly responsible for Runcorn Town conceding just five goals in the five games that they played. The opening game of the month saw a 2-2 draw at Avro. Reid made several saves to keep his side in it at key stages throughout the match, none more so than a full length save to deny Daniel Grimshaw midway through the first half. The next match saw Runcorn progress in the Macron Cup with a 2-0 win at Northwich Victoria, Reid awarded Man-of-the-Match by Runcorn supporters one of his best performances of the season. Three times in the match he denied Saul Henderson. The first was a low save down to his left in the first half, the second a full length save to turn Henderson's shot behind for a corner at the start of the second half, and the third a stunning point-blank save that rolled across the line before his defenders cleared.

"Runcorn's third match of the month brought another clean sheet, a 2-0 win at Padiham. Reid didn't have that much to do in this match and was quiet for long periods but he had to maintain his concentration throughout. He made a good save at the end of the first half to deny Harry Pratt and commanded his box well at the start of the second half by punching several Padiham free kicks clear. Match four of the month saw another Runcorn win, this time 2-1 at Barnoldswick Town. There was no clean sheet for Reid in this game, however, he was awarded Man-of-the-Match by the home side for his performance. The goal he did concede was from the penalty spot towards the end of the first half, and he pulled off an excellent save to deny James Crorken moments after the goal. The second half saw him twice deny Chris Turner and he also saved shots from Crorken and Joe Noblet.

"However he saved his best for stoppage time when he dove full length to tip Crorken's driven shot around the post. The shot was destined for the top corner, and the save was roundly applauded by the Sewer End Ultras behind the goal. Runcorn's final game of the month last Saturday was a 2-1 home defeat by Irlam. He didn't have that much to do in this match and could do nothing about Irlam's excellently placed first goal or their fiercely driven second goal. He did pull off a good save from Mwiya Malumo's shot in stoppage time as he dove towards the right-hand side of his goal."

Reusch Goalkeeper of the Month for NWCFL First Division North

Ashton Town's Christopher Cheetham

Games Played: 3

Man of the Match: 0

Clean Sheets: 0

Conceded: 6

Reason for Nomination: "Christopher Cheetham is a recent recruit this season, joining us late this season, signing his registration form on the 15th November. He comes to join us with some pedigree of experience at a higher level. He has moulded a great relationship with the rest of the team in almost no time whatsoever and you would think he has been with us for ages. He supports fellow team members both during training sessions, match days and off-field also. He is an imposing presence between the posts.

"With the previous experience he brings with him has quickly shown what a solid goalkeeper he is in supporting our backline and is a very vocal keeper barking out instructions not only to our defence but also to our midfield and forwards!! His continued vigilance during spells of none activity is key to him ensuring alertness for key moments during a game. Chris has played in the following games this month:- Saturday 23rd November at home to Abbey Hey in the PlayerMatch.Com cup in a 2-2 draw at full time losing out 8-9 on penalties, some quality goalkeeping in this match from not only saves made but also how he marshalled the defence.

"Tuesday 26th November at home to Steeton in the league in a 1-1 draw, making some crucial saves during the game to snuff out the Steeton threats and only agonisingly to concede the equalising goal in the 90th minute. Saturday 30th November in the league away to St. Helens Town in a 3-1 loss, making some fine saves in a crazy match we should have won after squandering numerous chances upfront which cost us dearly in the end."

Reusch Goalkeeper of the Month for NWCFL First Division South

Vauxhall Motors' Ryan Crump

Games Played: 7

Man of the Match: 0

Clean Sheets: 3

Conceded: 4

Reason for Nomination: "Ryan is probably the unsung hero of the Vauxhall Motors team at the moment, but his safe hands and able keeping have enabled his defence in front him to be confident of him when he is required.

"There is no doubt that the Motormen's winning run has been helped by Ryan's goalkeeping."
