It's been another fantastic midweek of NWCFL action - with tons of goals, plenty of movements in the tables - and a managerial departure following Monday's game.

The week started on Monday with just one game - an NWCFL Premier Division match between Whitchurch Alport and 1874 Northwich. A single goal from Scott McGowan midway through the second half settled the tie, which was Luke Goddard's last as Whitchurch manager - leaving Matt Burton in sole charge.

Just 24 hours later, in the same competition, Barnoldswick Town moved up to 14th in the standings with a 2-1 win against Winsford United. Whilst Avro got back to winning ways as they defeated Hanley Town 2-0.

There was just one game in the First Division North, with Harvey Macadem scoring the only goal in Nelson's slender win against Chadderton. In the South, Abbey Hulton United fended off a spirited Eccleshall side, eventually winning 3-2, whilst Cammell Laird 1907 left it late to get the three points at Cheadle Heath Nomads. Meanwhile, Vauxhall Motors stretched their lead at the summit of the standings, with a fine 3-0 win over managerless West Didsbury & Chorlton.

AFC Liverpool progressed in The PlayerMatch.com Cup 3rd Round with a 2-1 win against Pilkington, whilst Ellesmere Rangers were knocked out of the TJ Vickers Premier Cup, losing 5-0 to Shifnal Town.

In the Lancashire Challenge Trophy Quarter-Finals, it was a mixed night for the NWCFL sides, with only Prestwich Heys advancing, with a 5-2 win away at Colne. Meanwhile, Atherton Colliers beat Ashton Athletic 5-2, Bamber Bridge defeated Wythenshawe Amateurs 5-1, and Trafford saw off Wythenshawe Town 2-0.

On Wednesday evening the Buildbase FA Vase 3rd Round Replay took the limelight as Longridge Town host Congleton Town after their 2-2 draw at the weekend. And it was the host's night as Lee Ashcroft's side scored one in each half to win 2-0

In the NWCFL Premier Division, a Jordan Darr hat-trick helped Charnock Richard to a 5-2 away win at Litherland REMYCA, moving Ryan Donnellan's side up to second in the table.

Meanwhile, in the First Division North's only game, Lower Breck held off a Bacup Borough comeback - winning 2-1, their fourth straight league win.

Elsewhere, Abbey Hey eventually won 3-2 away at Barnton in the NWCFL First Division South.

And, in the Staffordshire Senior Cup Cup 2nd Round, Stone Old Alleynians hosted Stafford Rangers, and exited the competition, losing 3-0 to the Northern Premier League side. Whilst in The PlayerMatch.com 3rd Round, Emley AFC cruised passed Daisy Hill - running out 6-1 winners.

The action returns to the NWCFL on Saturday, with 24 NWCFL ties - but taking centre stage will be the Buildbase FA Vase 3rd Round Replay as Wythenshawe Town travel to Northern League side Consett.
