The second round of the PlayerMatch.com Cup takes place on Saturcday with 16 ties set to take place as First Division clubs, both North and South, vie to lift the trophy.

In the last round, Lower Breck took on Vauxhall Motors in a meeting of the two top sides in the North and South respectively.

Six goals saw Breck advance in a 6-2 win, and their second round opponents are Eccleshall, with them beating New Mills 5-4 on penalties in the last round following a 3-3 draw.

Top of the First Division South FC Oswestry Town also needed spot kicks to advance in the last round with Steeton holding them to a 0-0 draw, and they are away again at another North side in Garstang who lost 8-0 on Wednesday evening at home to Pilkington.

That result moved Pilks off the bottom of the table, and they'll look to take that momentum now in to cup action as they travel to Chadderton - 7th in the First Division North and entering the competition at this stage after a bye in round one.

West Didsbury & Chorlton moved to third in the South with their 2-1 win away at Cammell Laird on Saturday, and a week on they face Nelson in the PlayerMatch.com Cup.

The Admirals beat Holker Old Boys 4-1 in the Lancashire Challenge Trophy on Tuesday, thanks in part to a Jake Townsend hat-trick.

A clash between two sides in the North will take place when Ashton Town host Atherton LR. Town are second five points off the top, and Atherton LR, despite being 10th, are just three points off the top four.
