There weren't too many games this midweek, but boy, there were certainly enough goals to feast on - which turned out to be great value for money for over 1250 accumulative spectators.

Monday evening saw just the one game as Whitchurch Alport ran out 4-0 winners against Burscough - with 206 fans watching on.

Just 24 hours later, Alsager Town and Abbey Hulton United battled out their FA Vase replay and it was Lee Bennett's and Dan Davies' side which ran out 3-1 winners to their place in the next round.

In the NWCFL Premier Division, Irlam saw off a spirited Skelmersdale United side 4-0, whilst Abbey Hey beat Ellesmere Rangers 3-2, and Stone Old Alleynians moved up to third in the standings after a 4-2 win at Wythenshawe Amateurs in the First Division South. Whilst New Mills secured their first point of the season, as they drew 1-1 with Cheadle Heath Nomads.

Wednesday saw two games but 12 goals in the NWCFL top flight as Ashton Athletic won away at bottom side Litherland REMYCA 7-1 - Dale Korie-Butler netting four whilst Christopher Bandell bagged a neat hat-trick. In the other game, Charnock Richard moved up to 12th with a fine 3-1 win away at Runcorn Town.

Last night also saw two games, but this time in the First Division North with a cracker at Lower Breck, who came out on the right side of a 4-3 win against Ashton Town, whilst lastly St Helens Town moved up several places to 12th as they saw off Steeton 3-1.

In just over 24 hours, the action returns to the NWCFL, with FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round action for three of our sides, and all three of our division host an array of games up and down the region.
