With the deadline for applications approaching, so far no clubs from our Step 7 feeder leagues have applied for promotion to the Vodkat League next season.

There have, however, been several enquiries, and League Secretary John Deal says that League Management Committee is optimistic that we will have more new clubs on board next season.

John said: "As everyone knows we now have five vacancies, and while priority is given to champion clubs in each league, we would urge any club with intentions of progressing into to our league to get an application into us before the 31st December.

"A number of clubs have been visited for ground grading, and based on feedback we have had up to now, we are very hopeful that we will receive at least two applications and possibly more.  Further information will be released as soon as formal applications have been received."

For the avoidance of any doubt, the criteria for promotion from a Step 7 League to the Vodkat League is as follows.

PROMOTION

1. To be eligible for promotion a Club must make application for promotion to the NWCFL and The FA Leagues Committee (copy to their current League) by no later than the 31st December.

2. The Club must win the Championship of a Step 7 NWCFL Feeder League

3. The Club must obtain the minimum FA Ground Grade G by 31st March

4. In the event of the Champion Club either not meeting the grading requirement or does not wish for promotion the runner-up Club qualifies under the same conditions.

5. Promotion may be subject to the playoff criteria agreed between the Leagues and included in the NORTH WEST JOINT LIAISON COMMITTEE RULES

6. A Club would then be accepted as a promoted Club

APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP (AFTER PROMOTION CRITERIA HAS BEEN SATISFIED)

1. In the event of there being vacancies after the promotion criteria has been satisfied, Clubs in Membership of a Step 7 NWCFL Feeder League, but not in a promotion position can be considered for membership. Likewise a Club not currently Members of a Step 7 NWCFL Feeder League can also be considered.

2. In that event, application for membership must be made by no later than 31st December to the NWCFL and the FA Leagues Committee (copy to their current League).

3. The Club must obtain the minimum FA Ground Grade G by 31st March

4. Applications for Membership by this method will be subject to election at the NWCFL Annual General Meeting or Special General Meeting called for the purpose.

GENERAL INFORMATION

There are currently 5 vacancies in the NWCFL. Any Club considering either applying for promotion or membership and wishes for an advisory ground-grading visit should contact John Deal for further information and inform their current League.

In the event of 6 Clubs qualifying for promotion, the average points over the current season will decide the 5 vacancies.  If by this method 2 Clubs are tied for the 5th vacancy the average points over previous seasons will decide the promoted Club.
