When Wigan Robin Park's Steve Williams made it 3-0 against Chadderton on Saturday - and wrapped up the points in the 85th-minute with a stunning goal - one man was smiling more than most.

That was proud father Bill Williams.

For as well as his son scoring he had also just witnessed his three sons Steve, Chris and Danny line up together for Robin Park for the first time.

Debutant goalkeeper Danny pulled off a string of fine saves with the game at nil-nil, Chris was rock-solid at centre half while ex-Wigan Athletic player Steve picked up the man-of-the-match award.

Bill who follows his lads all around the north west was his usual vocal self as he encouraged the whole team on to victory.

Manager John Neafcy said: "Chris and Steve are first team regulars.

"With first team keeper and skipper Jay Foulds away doing his coaching badges it gave Danny a chance and I had no hesitation in throwing him in.

"He rewarded me with a great display.

"I'm made up for him as he's a quality keeper and like his two brothers a quality lad."

Meanwhile Wigan Robin Park have unveiled a new reserve management team of Dave Knowles and John Conway.

Dave Knowles who played for Liverpool FC at youth level before carving out a highly successful career in local football took up management when he retired from playing at the age of thirty six and now joins the club as reserve team manager.

With over ten years in management he is a highly-respected figure in local non-league circles and comes with a wealth of experience and contacts.

John Conway is a Robin Park committee member and has been an integral part of the club since it's formation. He has had a number of roles - including keeping goal for the reserves when required - and has now become Dave's assistant.

Robin Park chairman John Neafcy said: "I'm delighted to have Dave on board as reserve team manager.

"He's a local lad that knows everything there is to know about football in the area and I'm looking forward to working with him and John.

"I've been really impressed with what I've seen in training.

"They'll be given plenty of time and both have a massive role to play in the development of the club as we strive to make The Robins a force in non-league football."

The duo's first game in charge is against one of Dave's former clubs Ashton Town Reserves at the Robin Park Arena this Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
