Trust Shines A Light For Cheadle Town

Normal afternoon kick off times and evening fixtures can now resume for Cheadle Town, now that repair work to their floodlighting system has been completed.

Contractors completed work at the start of the week in installing a new control box, lamp holder and bulbs to the first pylon on the clubhouse side of the ground, an operation that had already been carried out to the centre pylons on each side of the pitch.

Town had a helping hand in arranging the repairs through a local organisation, the Stockport Sports Trust, and Town Press Officer Stuart Crawford said the assistance that that the club has had in sorting the problem has been invaluable.

“”The Club have been working in partnership with the Stockport Sports Trust for the past twelve months, as we seek to improve the facilities at Park Road Stadium.

“Stockport Sports Trust is a not for profit social enterprise company and registered charity, whose aim is to provide a best value service, by investing every penny they make back into the local communities.

“When they heard of our problems regarding the poor state of the floodlights at Park Road Stadium, they immediately offered assistance.  As well as helping the club in the sourcing of new lights and bulbs, they also offered the expertise available from their own maintenance department who deal with issues like this, and they were on hand to fully assess the floodlights.

“Ultimately the repairs to the floodlights would not have been possible without the assistance and funding of the Stockport Sports Trust, and Cheadle Town Football Club are extremely grateful for their support”.
